Few Exemptions on Revised EWM Rule, 2023 For Medical Devices 

 

  • The revised EWM Rule, 2023 removes the category – ‘lead in medical devices’ listed under Schedule II of EWM Rule, 2022

 

  • Section II A added to the revised EWM Rules, 2023 exempts medical devices, monitoring and control equipment, and laboratory equipment

 

  • The schedule contains twenty-four items divided into three categories-

 

1. Equipment utilising or detecting ionised radiation 

2. Sensors, detectors and electrodes 

3. Medical devices under other misc. categories
